About Newbury Skate School
Newbury Skate School is Berkshire’s premier destination for learning to skate. Founded in 2025 by Ashli Young, it started as a response to local kids at Victoria Park seeking help, tips, and guidance. Since then, Ashli has developed a skateboarding course that offers personalized coaching, transforming newbies into skilled skaters in a very short time — all while ensuring plenty of effort, encouragement, and fun during the skateboarding sessions.
Skateboarding can feel scary, pricey, and can leave you injured if you don't know what you're doing. At Newbury Skate School, we offer personalized coaching to help you realize your skate dreams with confidence. Our skateboarding sessions cater to everyone, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for learners. With an alumni aged 4 to 54 and students from all walks of life, we’re proud to provide a place for everyone to learn and have fun.

Ashli Young
Hi! I'm Ashli, the founder of NSS and the PSAuk (Parent/Skater Association UK), dedicated to growing the skate scene in the area and supporting the local community through skateboarding as our vehicle.
After nearly 10 years away from my board, I'm back into skating and have rediscovered my love for it. Skateboarding has become my safe place to express myself and connect with new people.
As a passionate skate instructor at the Newbury Skate School, I truly enjoy offering personalized coaching and am always seeking ways to improve and share my knowledge with the youth I engage with. If you see me out and about, don't hesitate to come say hi!

As an assistant instructor at Newbury Skate School, my passion for skateboarding has opened up many cool opportunities in the last couple of years. I'm involved with NSS because I believe that skateboarding is more than just a hobby; Newbury Skate School is a fantastic community that helps skaters of all levels improve their skills and build confidence through personalized coaching and engaging skateboarding sessions. Sharing my knowledge is incredibly rewarding, and I'm excited to continue contributing to the community through the many charity initiatives and supportive courses that NSS/ PSAuk are working on. If you get us mixed up; Ashli is the loud one, I'm the sensible one!
